This guide explains the Service Item Attributes tab in the Workshop Details page in MechanicDesk settings.
What Are Service Item Attributes?
Depending on the type of workshop you run, the service item you service may be different.
For example, if your workshop primarily services marine vehicles, such as boats, its attributes may differ from the default attributes selected.
Ticking these attributes will display them as fields on the service item’s details page.
Customise the Service Item Name
As an example, let’s customise the workshop’s service item to boats.
You can change the service item name and its plural name.
Once changed, the navigation title updates from Customers and Vehicles to Customers and Boats.
Everywhere in MechanicDesk that previously said vehicle will now say boat.
Select Service Item Attributes
Boats may have different attributes, such as:
- Inboard motor
- Outboard motor
- Generator
- Impeller
Tick the attributes you want to display on the service item’s details page.
Add Custom Attributes
If you need a custom attribute that is not listed, you can add your own by clicking Manage Custom Attributes.
View the Changes
To see the changes, navigate to a boat’s details page.
Go to Customers and Boats, select Boats, then click on a boat.
When you edit its details, you will see the new attributes that were selected.
