Due to recent ACMA regulations, it is currently not possible to send SMS messages from a business name as the sender ID. Sending messages with a business name will require registration with ACMA, and we are reviewing this process to ensure compliance.
In the meantime, SMS sent from MechanicDesk will use our dedicated phone number: +61 458 587 008. Your customers will see this number as the sender and can reply to it, with their replies captured back into MechanicDesk. Please note: the SMS reply email notification is one-way only. Do not reply to it; please contact the customer directly.
For any communication to customers, we recommend including your business name in the SMS message so customers can easily recognise who the message is from. If you prefer that customers do not reply to the message, you may also wish to clearly state that replies are not monitored.
We will provide updates when ACMA‑compliant business‑name sending becomes available again.
