You can change or reset a user’s password using the owner account in MechanicDesk. This is useful if a user has forgotten their password and does not have access to their email to complete the normal self-service reset.
Steps
- Log in with the MechanicDesk owner account.
(This is usually the account used to initially sign up for MechanicDesk, or an account that has been set as an owner.) - Navigate to Settings.
- Click Employees.
- Find the user and select the blue “Change Password” button.
- In the pop-up window:
- Enter your current password (for security verification).
- Enter the new password for the user.
- Re-enter the new password in Password Confirmation.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Notes
- Current password refers to your (owner) password, not the user’s password.
- This process resets the user’s password and allows them to log in with the new one.
