This article explains how to add driver contact details to a vehicle record and send communications directly to the driver.
Overview
You can add a driver’s name, phone number, and email address to a vehicle record.
When Send Communications To Driver is enabled, communications for the vehicle will default to the email address entered in the Driver Email field.
1. Enable driver fields
- Go to Settings > Workshop Details > Service Item Attributes.
- Tick the following fields:
- Driver Name
- Driver Phone
- Driver Email
Click Save.
The driver fields will now appear on vehicle records.
2. Add driver details to the vehicle record
- Open the relevant Customer Record.
- Select the associated Vehicle Record.
- Enter the driver’s details:
- Driver Name
- Driver Phone
- Driver Email
- Click Save.
Make sure the Driver Email address and Phone number is correct, as this is where communications will be sent.
3. Enable communications to the driver
- Open the Customer Record.
- Click on the Customer Details to edit
- Tick Send Communications To Driver.
- Click Save.
Once this is enabled, communications sent for that vehicle will default to the email address entered and phone number in the Driver Email and Driver Phone field on the vehicle record.
